Environmental rebound effect of wind and solar technologies in the Colombian household sector

Decarbonizing the national energy system by increasing amount of non-conventional renewable resources (NCRRs) is one strategies Colombian government to meet compromises declared in last conference parties (COP 26) (Glasgow 2021). Concretely, it expected that at end 2023, shares NCRRs power grid will increase from <1% 12% through wind and solar power. However, environmental savings may be partially or totally offset rebound effect (ERE). This study assesses ERE generated household sector due increased grid. Our results reveal an between 1.9% 8.2% for climate change (CC) category, which depends on model (wind solar) approach applied test it. Backfire effects were observed all models respiratory impact category with levels ranging 119,469% 376,605%. Service sectors contribute about 27% (combined approach) 47% (single total CC category.
